I can't believe it's the middle of August already. The season has gone by fast so far and the turnaround we've had so far this past month only gives me more hope for our future.
We had a pretty solid road trip last week and are playing really well together as a team. We were in every game against the Indians and Rays, but we did let a few get away. We played hard while we were on the road and are looking forward to being back at the Yard in front of all of our fans this coming week. There's no place like home.
I was looking over the questions and comments from the blogs the past couple weeks and couldn't believe all your responses. I do love my momma's tacos, so I wanted to give a shout out to Avi M and answer some of his questions.
I'd have to say I've had two proudest personal moments as an Oriole so far (of course hoping for more to come). My proudest moments have been winning my Gold Glove and being an All-Star.
I was the first Oriole outfielder in 34 years to win a Gold Glove, so accepting it on the field that day and having my family there was definitely a good feeling.
In the 2009 All-Star Game I was able to drive in the game-winning run - moments like that are once in a lifetime, and just being out there with the best guys in baseball, all playing together and knowing that I was able to contribute in such a big way was such a proud moment.
Keep the questions and posts coming, and I'll try to keep answering more.
