We've been on the road for the past 10 days, so I'm really looking forward to coming home this weekend and staying put for a while. I celebrated my birthday Monday and was able to enjoy it with friends in New York City.
It's always great to spend time in New York City - it's such a loud, exciting city, so full of energy that it's contagious. We had a great time seeing different parts of the city and it was quite memorable to spend my 26th birthday there, especially having an off day!
I recently went down to the Boys & Girls Club in Annapolis and had such a great time hanging out and playing with all of the kids. Growing up in San Diego, I went to the Boys & Girls Club all the time and spent a lot of my childhood playing there, so it's always been part of my makeup.
Going to the Boys & Girls Club is really something fun for me to do and every time I get an opportunity to come out, even on my day off, it's worth the time.
The best advice I give when I'm there is to keep working hard. I played a few games with the kids and they had the chance to ask me a ton of questions about how old I am, my batting average and who I root for in the NBA (the Lakers). As always, it was a super fun day at the Boys & Girls Club.
