Looking forward to the Bubble Gum Fan Challenge

Hey guys,

We're halfway through September and I still cannot believe the season is almost over. We're looking to finish strong the next few weeks and hopefully be a postseason spoiler.

This past weekend, we were in Toronto for the Toronto Film Festival and had a great time. We arrived in Toronto on the opening night of the film festival, so the city was buzzing with action, which was really cool to see. A few of us went to the grand opening party of the film festival and had an awesome time seeing some celebs and major players in Hollywood.

It was also just an interesting experience to play on 9/11 and reflect on the 10-year anniversary of the tragic event. I was in high school in California when everything happened and I just remember waking up on that day to the horrible news. Ten years later, it's an honor to play in the big leagues and honor our country by playing America's favorite pastime.

I'm looking forward to this last weekend homestand and then hitting the road for a week before finishing up at home. I'm going to be participating in the MASNsports.com Bubble Gum Fan Challenge tomorrow on the field. I'm looking forward to seeing if anyone can beat me in who can blow the biggest bubbles.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to win, but excited to see who my challenger is. Whoever wins, we're giving away a flat-screen TV, so let's see who can beat me!

Checking in before the next road trip

Hi guys,

Hope you're all enjoying the last bit of your summers! It's important we finish up strong in this last month; our job is not yet done here. I understand that it wasn't the season I was hoping for in terms of wins and losses, but we're still working hard to make it happen in Baltimore. We will never stop the hard work and hustle.

This past week, I had a MASN lunch with mobile contest winners and had a great time talking with some of the winners. We spent about an hour together, talking about the season, life off the field and about how many pairs of shoes I have (which is about 220 pair and have about 40 in rotation). All in all, it was a good experience chilling with some fans. I just signed my lease for this offseason and am planning on being back in sunny San Diego. I'm going to be living in the same spot as last year and I'm excited to get back there once the season is over.

We're headed back on the road this weekend to finish out the American League East strong. I just found out that we're going to be in Toronto playing the Blue Jays during the Toronto Film Festiva,l so I'm hoping to catch a few good movies in between games. I'll keep you all updated after the festival and let you know if we catch any celeb sightings!

Being back on the West Coast brings up old memories

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing well.

I'm writing you from Oakland, Calif., and we've surprisingly hit OK weather up here. I'm loving this West Coast trip especially since my family and friends can come and get to see me play. I'm missing California as a whole since I'm from here and definitely having nostalgia being back.

It's always nice to be back and reminds what a beautiful place California really is. I'll definitely be smashing Roscoe's on my off day this week and will be chilling up in L.A. as well. The weather is looking good in SoCal, so I'm excited to get there.

We're finishing up strong as a team and we're not going to give anything away in the last month and a half. We've come a long way since the beginning of the season and have really grown as a team. It's always a great feeling to reflect back on how far we've come and this season we've come a long way.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at Camden Yards when we're back from the road!

My birthday in the Big Apple and a visit to the Boys and Girls Club

Hi guys,

We've been on the road for the past 10 days, so I'm really looking forward to coming home this weekend and staying put for a while. I celebrated my birthday Monday and was able to enjoy it with friends in New York City.

It's always great to spend time in New York City - it's such a loud, exciting city, so full of energy that it's contagious. We had a great time seeing different parts of the city and it was quite memorable to spend my 26th birthday there, especially having an off day!

I recently went down to the Boys & Girls Club in Annapolis and had such a great time hanging out and playing with all of the kids. Growing up in San Diego, I went to the Boys & Girls Club all the time and spent a lot of my childhood playing there, so it's always been part of my makeup.

Going to the Boys & Girls Club is really something fun for me to do and every time I get an opportunity to come out, even on my day off, it's worth the time.

The best advice I give when I'm there is to keep working hard. I played a few games with the kids and they had the chance to ask me a ton of questions about how old I am, my batting average and who I root for in the NBA (the Lakers). As always, it was a super fun day at the Boys & Girls Club.

Recharged and ready to start the second half of the season

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you again for all your All-Star votes. It really meant a lot to see all the support from my fans, teammates, friends and family.

Over the All-Star break, I was able to sneak away and spend a few days in the Bahamas. I really enjoyed relaxing, laying in the sun and hanging by the pool. We hit incredible weather while we were down there and even ran into some of the Nats players at our hotel. It was great to see them all off the field and be able to chill. Since the season is so long, it is nice to get away when you can and take a break from the game mentally for a few days. The trip was an absolute success because I definitely felt rested after leaving the Bahamas and ready to start playing again.

I'm really looking forward to starting this second half and want to get off to a strong start as a squad. It always makes a difference to open the season back up at home in front of all the Orioles fans. The American League East is as strong as ever and we're up against some tough competition, so it's important for all of us to play as a team and stay in the right mind set. We have to go out there every day ready to play.

I'm looking forward to being home for the rest of the weekend and finishing up strong against the Red Sox and Angels. We're hitting the road again for Canada and New York City next week and I'm looking forward to being in New York City. I always have such a great time there. I hope everyone stays cool this week and I'll see you at Camden Yards!

Hoping to make a late All-Star push

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. We've been to Atlanta, we're in Texas now, then off to Boston, so I'm definitely missing playing at home in Camden Yards. We're almost halfway through the season and I can't believe how fast it's gone by already.

We're still in transition and finding our rhythm playing together, but I'm confident in the second half we're going to pick up momentum and finish strong. We have a long homestand when we get back from the All-Star break, so looking forward to seeing you all back there!

On Sunday, I found out I was nominated for the MLB Final Vote contest. I'm honored to be considered again for the MLB All-Star Game in Phoenix, but really do need all of your votes and support. Making this All-Star team would mean as much or more to me then when I made it two years ago.

Being selected as an MLB All-Star is a true honor that I want to continue to bring back to the city of Baltimore. The Orioles haven't had more than one player in the game since 2005 and I'm looking to make that change this year.

Playing in the 2009 All-Star game was a dream. President Obama threw the first pitch that year and I got to meet him before the game in the locker room, which was such an incredible, once in a lifetime experience. Also, getting to play with all the guys on different teams is pretty cool. There are some of the old timers you always dreamt of playing with when you were a kid and the rookies you're showing the way to.

Enjoying watching the pitchers take their cuts

Hi everyone,

We've been busy the past few weeks! Interleague play has opened us up to a different style of baseball. Our pitchers have been hitting the ball well, which is always good and exiting to see. I'm looking forward to this next home stand and playing in front of all our fans this weekend and next week after being on the road the past few days.

We hit the road again for the first few weeks in July, so it's always nice to come back and play at Camden Yards our true fans. We're also trying to make the Battle of Beltways series more competitive this year as both teams are getting better, so make sure you come out and support.

I recently went out and visited Woodmoor Elementary School in Baltimore, and it was such an awesome experience for me. It brings a smile to my face going out there and hanging out with all the kids. I feel very fortunate to be in a position to be able to make an impact on kids' lives and had such a great time being back at school.

I'll definitely be tuning in this weekend to the NBA Draft. I'm curious and excited to see who the first-round picks will be and of course who the Cavs pick first.

Remember, we only have a few more weeks to the MLB All-Star game in Phoenix, so please keep on voting to get all your favorite Orioles in!

Spending time with the family out on the West Coast

Hi everyone,

It's been an exciting last few weeks for the O's. Our trip to Seattle was nothing short of amazing. My cousin came out to join me on the road when we were in Seattle and we were able to do some good things while he was there.

We are starting to get healthy as a team and we're ready for this next stretch coming up. I'm looking forward to the weekend homestand and finishing strong.

2011 team by far best in Jones' O's tenure

Hi everyone!

Excited to be back blogging again this year and looking forward to keeping everyone updated throughout the season. We've been playing good baseball this year and we've continuously been getting after it.

It's still close in our division and I know a lot of people may count us out, but this is by far the best team we've had, since I've been an Oriole. We have an exciting coaching staff that keeps us loose and on our toes and speaks the truth about our game at all times.

It's still early in the season and we're battling a few injuries. Once we get a few guys back in the coming weeks, I know we'll be an even better team.

Taking in the playoffs & the California sun until training starts again

Hey everyone,

It's been fun to watch how the playoffs have turned out this year. Everyone looks good and you can never predict what's going to happen, so it's always exciting to watch.

It's also been nice to get away from the game for a little bit and just be able to relax out here in California. But, I'm eager to see what happens for our team next year and to get back into training.

I have a really good feeling for the 2011 season and know we're going to come out strong. I'll be in touch next week...until then, just enjoying this California sun.

Charm City to the Big Apple to the West Coast

Hey Everyone,

I've been going back and forth to New York this past week seeing everything this city has to offer, which has been awesome.

I'm finally packing up all my stuff and leaving Baltimore until next season. I'm planning on spending this offseason in San Diego and just getting ready to spend time on the best coast.

It'll be nice to be near the beach again and be back in San Diego where I grew up. I'm hoping the weather will be nice out there so I can go to the beach and start training to come back strong for next year.

I'll keep you all updated on beautiful San Diego this offseason.

Seeing a new side of the Big Apple

Hey Everyone,

I've been in New York this past week since the season ended. Usually when I'm in New York, I just hang out, go to lunch, and kill time before my game, but on Tuesday I spent an entire day going around NY to the MLB Network, ESPN, and the Scott Van Pelt show.

It was a really fun day seeing all the studios and talking about the postseason and baseball. It was cool to stand in the outfield with Billy Ripken and talk about the positioning in center field and my thoughts on the how the playoffs will turn out.

One of the best parts of the day was signing the Wall of Fame. It's been a great week in NYC so far - loving the weather, hanging in the park, and looking forward to watching football this weekend.

What's next after the season ends Sunday?

Hey Everyone,

I'm so glad to be back in Baltimore. Toronto was a harder road trip for us, and it's crazy the last home stand is already here.

We play so many games throughout the season, it's a strange feeling that we're in the home stretch and the end of the season is actually near.

We've played so well these last two months - it makes me even more excited to come back next season and play with Buck and all the guys again.

This offseason should be really interesting. I plan on spending some time in San Diego this offseason, as well as Arizona, and I know we'll all be focused on training as hard as we can to come back and have a winning season next year.

The season's end is bittersweet

Hey everyone,

We're getting near the end of the season, which is always bittersweet. We've come such a long way this past season with many ups and downs, getting a new manager, and now battling the AL East to the very end.

The way we've ended this season, gives me hope for a winning 2011...

I've been figuring out my plans for this offseason - where I'm living and where I'll be training, and I can't believe the end of the season is almost here.

I loved every minute of beating the Sox back-to-back at Fenway. I'm enjoying this last road trip of the season in Toronto and Tampa Bay, and I'm so glad we have our final games at home. Thanks again for all your support.

Heating things up in the AL East

Hey guys,

This is an exciting time in the season for the O's. We're playing a big role in the AL East Race because we've been playing really well this last half of the season.

We have six games coming up with the Yankees and Rays, and I'm hoping to knock some of them out of the AL East race.

We're starting with the Yankees at home this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to a strong match-up against them.

We need all of you to keep coming out and supporting us as we take on the Yankees at one of our last home stands this year.
