Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner is expected to announce his retirement in a press conference today.
Is he Hall of Fame worthy? Well, let's see...
Warner's a five-time Pro Bowler, two-time league MVP, Super Bowl winner, two-time Super Bowl runner-up and Super Bowl MVP. He has the second highest completion percentage in NFL history, and has posted the three highest single-game passing yardage totals in Super Bowl history.
I say send the man to Canton.
Meanwhile, we're just days away from the Pro Bowl, and I'm sure you're all having trouble sleeping because of the excitement.
(Is that sarcasm thick enough for ya?)
With Ed Reed opting out of the week in Miami because of his numerous injuries, the Ravens will have four representatives on the field on Sunday - Ray Lewis, Haloti Ngata, Le'Ron McClain, and Ray Rice.
Both Lewis and Rice were mic'd up on the NFL Network during the AFC's "practice" on Thursday, and we got to see them joking with their Pro Bowl teammates and having a good time in the Florida sun.
Here are the links to Lewis' segment and Rice's video as well.
My favorite part of the videos: Rice openly mocking McClain's weight as he stands off behind the players in the huddle.
"My fullback hates me because I get on him," Rice said to nearby players. "He's 280 [pounds]. A fullback. That's not a fullback, that's a tackle!"
Later, McClain got a handoff during what looks like running back drills.
"That's literally '33 Belly' right there," Rice said with a laugh as McClain got the carry. "33 Le'Ron's Belly."
One other side note - word is the Ravens won't begin discussions with their restricted free agents for another few weeks. Team officials have been down at the Senior Bowl this week and aren't in a hurry to start talks with their RFAs.
We're scheduled to meet with Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, president Dick Cass, GM/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome and head coach John Harbaugh next Wednesday, so I should have more for you on all the offseason topics then.
