The posts are coming fast and furious today. I'll remember this in a few weeks when I'm struggling to come up with new topics to discuss.
This one comes with some disappointing news regarding a media favorite.
Tight end Quinn Sypniewski, who recently underwent a surgical procedure to his left knee, had his contract terminated today after he failed a physical. That news is according to the Ravens' team website.
Sypniewski tore his ACL in that left knee in training camp back in 2008, and has struggled to get healthy since then. He had major reconstructive surgery on the knee last year, and the most recent procedure was reportedly a minor cleanup procedure that wouldn't affect his attempts to return next season.
Apparently, all the medical work took its toll.
Sypniewski made 36 catches for 261 yards and one touchdown with the Ravens between the '06 and '07 seasons.
He was considered the top blocking tight end on the team, and his absence last season forced the Ravens to use offensive lineman Chris Chester in a blocking tight end role throughout the year.
