The Ravens made a move in their front office yesterday, promoting Al Saunders to Senior Offensive Consultant for the 2010 season.
Saunders, who has 27 years of NFL coaching experience, was quietly was brought into the fold last season. He was one of the offensive gurus with the Rams back in the Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt days. That offense became known as "The Greatest Show on Turf".
According to the Ravens, Saunders will work alongside Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron in establishing game plans and will also assist the Ravens' tight ends and receivers in on-field work.
In other news, the Ravens' OTA (Organized Team Activity) schedule has been released.
Here are the dates, according to an NFL release (with dates subject to change): May 17-20, May 24-27, June 7-10, June 15-16.
Teams are permitted to conduct up to 14 OTA sessions as part of their offseason workout programs, and if they want, they can conduct one mandatory veteran minicamp as well.
Happy opening day to all the O's fans out there. Can't believe it's baseball season already, but before we know it, training camp will be underway and we'll be right back in the swing of football.
