Undrafted kicker not an option

The only place kicker currently on the Ravens' roster is Billy Cundiff, and it's clear that GM Ozzie Newsome would like to add another kicker to compete with the six-year veteran in training camp.

Newsome said today, however, that the competition will not come from an undrafted free agent.

"No, I don't think we'll be signing a rookie kicker," Newsome said. "But, I do feel that by the time we get to training camp, there probably will be some competition at the kicking position."

That's GM code for: "We're going to be signing a veteran kicker."

The clear favorite right now is Shayne Graham, who the Ravens reportedly had contact with earlier this offseason.

We'll keep tabs on that in the coming days and weeks.

That's it for me; I've spent way too much time at Ravens headquarters the last three days, and think I'll head out. I feel like a cold beverage might be coming my way.

I'll have plenty more draft coverage in the next few days.
