For months, Ravens fans have been wondering why the team hasn't made a move to add another proven cornerback.
We might now be seeing why GM Ozzie Newsome didn't feel the need to pull the trigger on a trade this offseason or reach for a corner in last month's draft.
Fabian Washington and Lardarius Webb, two cornerbacks who are coming off torn ACLs they sustained during the 2009 season, both say they got good news from Dr. James Andrews today regarding their rehabilitation progress.
The renowned Birmingham surgeon examined both players today, and according to the cornerbacks' Twitter accounts, everything went well.
"Dr. Andrews told me I was doing great and I'll be ready for camp," Washington tweeted.
Less than an hour later, Webb provided his own Twitter update: "Jus left B'ham from seeing Dr. Andrews. Everything is on schedule Raven fans!!!!"
Head coach John Harbaugh has said that both players are ahead of schedule in their rehab. Webb was seen backpedaling and cutting on a side field during last week's minicamp.
If one or both of the ACL twins are able to go 100 percent in training camp, the Ravens' cornerback corps will receive a significant boost. Currently, the team's only healthy, proven corners are Domonique Foxworth, Chris Carr, Cary Williams and Travis Fisher, an eight-year veteran who was signed last Monday.
