Want to know what jersey numbers the newest Ravens have been given?
Good, because I'm going to tell you.
Backup quarterback Marc Bulger, who previously had worn No. 10 throughout his career, has been assigned No. 9. Troy Smith currently wears No. 10, which is why Bulger needed to make a change.
Safety Ken Hamlin will now be No. 45 after wearing No. 26 with the Cowboys and Seahawks. Dawan Landry will continue to wear No. 26.
Cornerback Walt Harris will take No. 38 after previously wearing No. 27 and No. 21. Ray Rice and Lardarius Webb are the current owners of those numbers.
On a separate note, we're now six days away from rookies, quarterbacks and selected veterans reporting to camp and seven days away from the first practice of training camp.
At this point, the Ravens have signed five of their seven draft picks, but their top two selections, linebacker Sergio Kindle and defensive tackle Terrence Cody are still without contracts.
There's no need to panic; only one player taken in the first two rounds has been signed, so the Ravens are far from alone when it comes to their contract negotiations.
The lack of completed contracts, however, could make things a little difficult on GM Ozzie Newsome and Vice President of Football Administration Pat Moriarty when it comes to negotiating with Kindle and Cody.
Teams often use finished deals as a basis for their negotiations with high draft picks. They can see how much money a similar pick (a player taken within a couple selections of their own player) received and how the team has structured the deal. They can then determine where their own player's contract should be slotted.
Because almost no high draft picks have been signed to this point, that process will be more difficult than it has been in previous years. There could be significantly more holdouts as we get into training camp, especially when it comes to first-round picks.
Kindle and Cody were both second-rounders, so the Ravens have it easier than most teams when it comes to the negotiating work they have remaining.
Both players will likely be in camp when practices start next Tuesday, but this is something to watch over the course of the next week.
