Mark Clayton was the victim of a vicious illegal hit by Giants safety Antrel Rolle, and the Ravens' wide receiver suffered a minor concussion as a result.
His return is doubtful.
Clayton made a play on a Joe Flacco pass over the middle, and as he came down, Rolle leapt in and appeared to make helmet-to-helmet contact with Clayton.
The fifth-year safety drew a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness. The officials viewed Clayton as a defenseless receiver, which was their rationale for tossing the flag.
Rolle can expect a letter (and a bill) from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sometime this week.
