The Ravens' second and third-round picks looked like they belonged in the NFL in their first game action as pros.
Defensive tackle Terrence Cody made two tackles and was a force in the Carolina backfield most of the first half. He tossed aside blockers, pressured the quarterback, and at one point, he drew a triple-team from the Panthers offensive line.
The Ravens' second-round pick starred in college at Alabama, where he was a dominant run stuffer. He showed that he can stop the run, and possibly do a lot more (including be a lead blocker on offense) at the next level.
Meanwhile, tight end Ed Dickson has made two grabs for 26 yards so far. The Oregon product has had a very solid training camp, and he looks like he won't have a problem continuing to contribute in game action.
Dickson's speed and size make him a big-time threat in the passing game, and Marc Bulger connected with the rookie twice for first downs late in the first half.
Both draft picks have a ways to go, but they made big strides in their NFL careers tonight.
