Harbaugh: Reed "really happy" with progress

Ed Reed was on the Ravens' sideline during Saturday's preseason game against the Redskins, and he met with head coach John Harbaugh to discuss his status as he works back from offseason hip surgery.

According to Harbaugh, the report he got from his six-time Pro Bowl safety was a positive one.

"He said he feels good about his progress," Harbaugh said. "We don't have details. It's hard to say how it's going to continue to improve. But I think he's really happy. Based on the conversation I had with him, he's happy with his progress and that he's working really hard on it."

Reed is still on the Physically Unable to Perform list and reportedly has spent time away from the team, seeing a rehab doctor to help him work his hip back into shape.

His status for the start of the regular season is still unknown.
