McGahee returns, Gaither doesn't

We've got a decent crowd out here at M&T Bank Stadium this afternoon.

I'd say about half of the lower bowl of seats are filled, with a bunch of fans using the overhanging club level for shade.

After initially running through some special teams drills at the very beginning of practice, the Ravens have split the field, with the offense using half for positional drills and the defense taking the other half for their own drills.

A couple personnel notes for you:

Running back Willis McGahee has returned to practice today after missing yesterday's session with swelling in his knee.

McGahee was dressed out for warm-ups and is taking part in positional drills right now.

One guy who is still not taking part in practice, however, is Jared Gaither. The offensive tackle is dealing with back spasms which caused him to miss yesterday's sessions.

I haven't seen Gaither on the field yet today. His fellow injured offensive linemen, Tony Moll and Stefan Rodgers, are watching practice from the side.

Others who are not participating in practice today: Ed Reed, Lardarius Webb, K.J. Gerard, Marcus Paschal, Brendon Ayanbadejo and Matt Lawrence.
