Today's morning session marked the last full team practice prior to Thursday's preseason opener against the Panthers, and it had the typical "last practice" feel to it.
Terrell Suggs was talking trash and shouting practically the entire practice, Antwan Barnes was jumping around and being goofy, and despite the heat, the players seemed happy to be out there getting in a few more reps before tomorrow's walk-through.
"There was a lot of enthusiasm," head coach John Harbaugh said. "They had a little bounce in their step. I think they're excited for the game."
The only thing that was missing from the last-practice-before-the-game routine was the media dodgeball, but I'm OK with the players leaving that part out.
Suggs handled the bulk of the chatter today, yelling at offensive linemen during 1-on-1 OL/DL drills and the quarterbacks during full team work. After Ray Rice brought in a slick grab on a screen pass early in practice, Suggs heckled the running back. "We don't care about your one-handed grab," yelled.
We can't go a day without an injury at Ravens camp, and today, left guard Ben Grubbs was the one to leave the field with a trainer.
Grubbs' injury is unknown, but it doesn't appear like he'll miss an extended period. He didn't appear to be in a lot of pain coming off the field, and head coach John Harbaugh said that the injury is "not major".
