You never really know the full story about an NFL team after three games.
Teams are still working out the kinks, adjustments are only starting to be made, and there are still 13 games left to determine how everything will shake out.
But with the Ravens, we really don't have any idea what type of team they are after the first three games of the 2010 season. This truly seems like a Jekyll & Hyde squad.
One week, they head on the road and beat a team who made it to the AFC Championship game last season. Another week, they need a fourth quarter comeback at home to beat a squad that had all of five wins last season.
One week, their starting quarterback throws four interceptions and looks like he needs a GPS to move his way around in the pocket. Another week, that quarterback throws three touchdown passes and posts the second-highest quarterback rating of his career.
One week, the defense holds a top-10 rushing offense from a year ago to under 100 yards on the ground. Another week, they allow 173 rushing yards, including 144 to an unproven backup running back who was acquired in return for Brady Quinn.
The Ravens might be a Super Bowl caliber team. They might also struggle to make the playoffs. Three weeks into the season, it's just too early to tell.
Yesterday's win over the Browns was nice because it was a win. But it wasn't exactly what you would call pretty.
This was supposed to be the game where the Ravens put everything together and rolled over a Cleveland team that was 0-2 entering Sunday, and was playing without a number of their key starters.
Instead, it took an impressive fourth quarter out of Joe Flacco, Anquan Boldin and the Baltimore defense for the Ravens to pick up the win.
With that, I'll toss out this week's Monday morning question:
Are you willing to take yesterday's win and move on to next week's game against Pittsburgh, or do you come out of the Browns game with more concerns than you had entering the weekend?
Are the play of Flacco and Boldin and the division win enough, or do you find yourself frustrated that the Ravens didn't dominate Cleveland and make a statement heading into Steelers week?
