Cody making progress

Terrence Cody has missed the last two weeks after having minor knee surgery, but the rookie defensive tackle says he's making progress in his rehab.

"It's getting better," Cody said. "I'm able to do a lot of things, a lot of running. Doing a lot of things. Getting physical, getting back on it."

Cody had a positive outlook when asked about his status for Sunday's game against the Bengals, saying he "should be able to play", but head coach John Harbaugh wasn't willing to make a prediction on Cody's availability at this point.

"[He] seems to be getting better," Harbaugh said. "Will he play? I don't know. I don't think he'll practice today, but he's close to practicing. It'll be day by day."

While Cody likely won't strap on the pads and participate in today's practice, he hopes to do so soon.

"I want to get a lot of reps so I can get back in playing shape," he said.

The Ravens would love to have their run-stuffing specialist back this weekend. They have a tough task ahead of them on Sunday when they take on Bengals running back Cedric Benson.

The former University of Texas back rushed for over 1,200 yards last year, and posted two huge games against the Ravens, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown Week 5 in Cincinnati, and then going for 117 yards and a score Week 10 in Baltimore.
