Did we expect anything different?

Yes, it's ugly.

Yes, it's sloppy. Yes, there are penalties seemingly every other play, and fumbles seemingly every other drive.

But this is Ravens-Jets. We knew this is what we'd see tonight.

Hard-hitting, physical, football with very few points and lots of defense.

That said, both teams have shot themselves in the foot a handful of times through the first two quarters. The Jets have been flagged a whopping 10 times for 100 penalty yards. The Ravens have three turnovers and have averaged just 1.3 yards per carry.

The purple and black caught a big break (their first of the game) late in the second quarter when Jets rookie cornerback Kyle Wilson was flagged for pass interference on T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the end zone.

Baltimore got the ball at the one-yard-line, and three plays later, Willis McGahee fought his way into the end zone to give the Ravens a 7-6 halftime lead.

Ravens and Jets: 7-6 at the half.

Sounds about right.
