Flacco goes 'Jersey Shore'

The Jersey Shore phenomenon is sweeping the country, and even Joe Flacco is getting in on the action.

No, he's not dating Snooki. He's just dressing like one of her friends.

The Ravens' quarterback showed up to last night's Ravens charity Halloween party dressed as a character from the hit MTV show, and he kept his Jersey Shore haircut for today's press conference with local media.

"It was a bye week so I don't have to worry about my hair too much," Flacco said. "So I figured I'd have a little fun with it.

"I don't think the coaches really know how to react to it."

I don't blame 'em. The haircut was impressive and ridiculous at the same time. Here it is at right (photo courtesy of the Ravens' official Twitter account, 1WinningDrive).

The 'do featured a faux hawk up top and an image of New Jersey shaved into the back of Flacco's head. An arrow that's shaved into the area above Flacco's left ear points to the "shore" portion of New Jersey.

Flacco, an Audubon, New Jersey native, said he wasn't dressing as a specific Jersey Shore character, but, "just somebody who goes there."

He said he came up with the idea himself, and had linebacker Tavares Gooden, who is known for his ... uh ... exotic haircuts, give him an idea of where to go to get the shave job done.

"I watch [the show] a little bit," Flacco said. "It's funny. I saw a recent haircut of "The Situation", and he had some designs in it, so I thought, 'That'll be fun to do.'

"I kinda asked around the locker room and they told me to ask Tavares where I should get it done. Yesterday when we got done here I went over there. It took about an hour and 40 minutes to get it done. Then I headed over to Todd [Heap]'s party. It's fun."

Flacco said he plans to cut the faux hawk off when he goes home during the bye week this week, but he'll leave the design of New Jersey alone.

Linebacker Ray Lewis, who came to the podium after Flacco, did not seem too impressed by his quarterback's new look.

"He's just going through some things," Lewis said with a laugh. "When you're young..."
