Sunday's game at New England wasn't the type of performance Ravens fans have grown accustomed to seeing from Michael Oher over the last season and a half.
The Ravens' left tackle was called for two false starts, was whistled for a holding penalty, and got burned by Patriots linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, who sprinted past Oher and brought down quarterback Joe Flacco for a sack early in the second quarter.
It might have been the worst performance of Oher's young NFL career, but the Ravens' 2009 first-round pick is anxious to put the Patriots game behind him and get back on the field this Sunday against the Bills.
"I got to bounce back," Oher said. "I feel like I let the team down and I did some things that I normally wouldn't do. I need to play a lot harder and a lot better. I got the coaches telling me I played a poor game, below my standards. I got to do a better job."
Oher, who played primarily at right tackle for the Ravens last year, has moved back to his natural left tackle position this season.
On Sunday, he'll face a Bills front which has struggled so far this season, posting just six sacks through five games. But Oher isn't letting the numbers lead him to believe that Buffalo won't pose a threat at the point of attack.
"They got good players upfront," Oher said. "We got to get after it."
The Ravens' offensive line will see one familiar face lining up across from them on Sunday - defensive end Dwan Edwards, who spent the first five years of his career as a member of the Ravens.
Oher went up against Edwards in practice last season, so he has an idea what to expect this weekend.
"He's a great player," Oher said. "We're going to have to get after him."
