As expected, the Ravens used their open roster spot to sign an offensive lineman, and Scott Kooistra was the guy they went with.
Kooistra, an eight-year veteran, has appeared in 84 career games. The former seventh-round pick played with the Bengals from 2003-2009, and spent a little time with the Browns after being let go by Cincinnati last year.
The 6-6, 335 pound Kooistra replaces cornerback Prince Miller on the roster. Miller was waived yesterday.
Meanwhile, just days after making his first game appearance of the 2010 season, Paul Kruger learned he'll be back on the sidelines for a little while.
Kruger suffered a strained knee ligament in Sunday's win over the Steelers, and will miss at least two weeks, head coach John Harbaugh announced on his radio show last night.
The Ravens' second-year defensive end underwent an MRI which revealed the knee injury.
Kruger didn't make any tackles in his 2010 debut on Sunday, but he did bat a pass down and looked like he had a sack and forced fumble, although that play was brought back because of a penalty.
With Kruger out, the Ravens will now cross their fingers and hope that defensive end Cory Redding is able to play this weekend after missing last Sunday's game because of a concussion.
