The Ravens' offensive line will see its first change of the 2010 season today.
Right guard Chris Chester is inactive because of a skin issue that left him hospitalized on Thursday, leaving Tony Moll to start in Chester's place.
Moll, who got all the reps at right guard during Friday's practice, will be making his first start since the 2008 season, when he was with the Packers.
Surprisingly, it took nine games for the Ravens to need to make their first adjustment to the O-line. That's a testament to the toughness of the five guys up front.
Here are the rest of the Ravens' inactives, according to the team:
WR Marcus Smith, S Tom Zbikowski, LB Dannell Ellerbe, DT Arthur Jones, G Chris Chester, TE Dennis Pitta, DT Brandon McKinney and DT Lamar Divens.
It's the first deactivation of the season for Smith, who is one of the Ravens' top special teams players. McKinney is inactive for the third straight game after starting four straight games from Week 4-7.
G Bryan Mattison, who the Ravens signed off their practice squad yesterday, is active for his first NFL game since coming into NFL in 2008. He'll provide depth behind Moll at the guard spot.
Here are the Panthers' inactives:
WR Armanti Edwards, QB Jimmy Clausen, RB Jonathan Stewart, WR Brandon LaFell, RB Tyrell Sutton, S Marcus Hudson, G Travelle Wharton and DT Ed Johnson.
As expected, Brian St. Pierre will make his first NFL start for the Panthers today, with Clausen out because of a concussion.
With Stewart out, Mike Goodson will get the start again at running back. Wharton is the Panthers' starting left guard, so Carolina will need to shuffle their O-line with his absence as well.
