Chester, Washington among Ravens inactives

The black jerseys are out at M&T Bank Stadium, both on the field and in the stands.

A number of fans are sporting their black threads today with the players doing the same, although the Ravens will not be going with the popular all-black look featuring the black pants.

John Harbaugh is not a fan of the all-black, which has not been worn since he became head coach in 2008. The Ravens will go with the white pants this afternoon, which I still think is a good look.

The inactive list has just been handed to me, and while there are a few expected names on the list, there's a surprise or two as well.

First, the expected: Starting RG Chris Chester will sit again this week with a leg infection, meaning that Tony Moll will get his second straight start at Chester's guard spot.

Safety Tom Zbikowski is also inactive because of a heel injury. Zbikowski returned to practice this week for the first time in over a month, but he's still a game away from being able to suit up.

Now, the unexpected: For the first time this season, cornerback Fabian Washington is among the Ravens' inactives.

In the span of three weeks, Washington has gone from starting cornerback to a seemingly healthy inactive. Back-to-back benchings against the Bills and Dolphins led to his removal from the starting lineup, and now, the sixth-year corner will not even be in uniform this afternoon.

Here's the full list of the Ravens' inactives:

WR Marcus Smith, S Tom Zbikowski, CB Fabian Washington, LB Dannell Ellerbe, G Chris Chester, TE Ed Dickson, NT Brandon McKinney and DT Lamar Divens.

Dickson's deactivation is due to a thigh injury which left him questionable for today's game. The rookie tight end will sit out for the first time this season.

Defensive end Cory Redding (arm) is the only Raven who was listed as questionable who will play today.

Here are the Buccaneers' inactives:

QB Rudy Carpenter (3rd QB), CB Elbert Mack, FB/TE Erik Lorig, T Will Barker, T Derek Hardman, DT Frank Okam, WR Preston Parker, and DE/DT Kyle Moore.

Moore is the only Bucs starter who is inactive. Tim Crowder will start for him at defensive end.

Back with more pregame notes in a bit.
