Flacco poised to reach another milestone

As a third-year starter for a team which has only been in existence since 1996, Joe Flacco has already set a couple franchise records.

He could very well end with another after this weekend.

If Flacco throws for two touchdowns this Sunday against the Panthers, he would pass Vinny Testaverde for most TD passes in team history.

The Delaware product currently has 50 touchdown strikes, while Testaverde posted 51 in his two seasons with the Ravens.

Despite being just 1-8, the Panthers do have the NFL's fifth-best passing defense, so Flacco will have his work cut out for him on Sunday.

A few other Ravens are on the verge of reaching milestones as well:

- If Ray Lewis grabs one more interception, he'll have 30 for his career, making him only the eighth linebacker in history to reach that milestone.

- Safety Ed Reed is currently one interception short of 50 for his career. Assuming he grabs that INT, he would be the 32nd player to get to the 50-pick mark.

- With one more reception, wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh will reach 600 catches for his career. He would become the 53rd player in NFL history to get to that mark.

- This one almost certainly won't happen this week (and if it does, it would be a milestone in and of itself), but with 16 more receptions, Ray Rice will most past Jamal Lewis for the most career catches by a running back in team history. Rice has posted 145 catches so far in his career, while Lewis finished his tenure as a Raven with 160 grabs.

- Another milestone likely a few games off relates to Terrell Suggs, who needs seven more sacks to top Peter Boulware as the Ravens' career sacks leader. Suggs has put up 64 so far; Boulware had 70 in his time in Baltimore.
