Before taking questions from reporters this afternoon, Ray Rice wanted to clear something up.
The Ravens' running back clarified a post that he put on Twitter last night, in which he indicated that he hadn't gotten a ticket from a police officer after giving the officer an autograph for his son.
Rice said today that he was only given a warning after getting pulled over for the tint on his windows, and the autograph came after the fact.
"I got pulled over by a police officer for my tints," Rice said. "I didn't realize they were illegal until they pulled me over. He gave me a warning and said to get it fixed. I didn't have anything outstanding or nothing wrong with my plates or anything.
"As I'm going in to buy the new "Call of Duty", I'm walking to the store, the cop said his son is a big fan, so I took it upon myself to offer him an autograph to his son. That was after the warning. Bad decision by me wording it on Twitter."
The Twitter post that Rice put up reads: "Just got pulled over for my tints. Smh. But gave the officer a autograph for his son and he let me go."
"Smh", for those of you who are unaware, means "shaking my head". That concludes your Twitter lingo lesson of the day.
Rice has since deleted the Twitter post, and seems to want to move on from the incident.
"I just wanted to put that out there," Rice said. "I don't want to make it seem like I'm getting any [special] treatment by an officer. He was doing his job. I definitely won't make that decision by putting it on Twitter again."
