We have now been through the rotation once. So far so good. Recently, I have talked about how this year was going to be different - Mainly because of our starting rotation.
With Kevin Millwood as the anchor and some of the young guys with major league experience, we could see consistent starting pitching.
If that happens, this could be the year we save the bullpen and avoid the disaster that we've seen the past eight to 10 years. I really think that this year will be a step in the right direction.
I am mostly impressed with Dave Hernandez.
He came to spring training and took the bull by the horns.
I'm sure he knew that Chris Tillman had the inside track to the fifth spot in the rotation. He took that as a challenge and went after it big time.
He threw a lot of strikes and got the job done.
Chris didn't pitch poorly, but Dave pitched even better and deserved the ball on the fifth day of the year.
And he didn't disappoint that day, going six innings and giving up just two runs.
Let's see if it plays out the way I see it after a few times through.
