
I have said many times that you should not give up on starting pitchers too soon. The hardest thing to find and the most expensive thing to buy is starting pitching.
It's also the most fragile part of your team. That's why I feel you should not give up too soon on your young arms. It takes awhile for some guys to figure it out.
Because of the situation with the Orioles bullpen this year, it seemed like a necessity to move Hernandez to the bullpen, and he has thrown well in the limited opportunities he has had so far.
It looks like he may be moving toward the back end of the game. He may be able to dial it up a notch or two with the one-inning-at-a-time type outings.
Maybe this role will suit him and we can forget about the misery of the closer merry-go-round.
