The Nationals spent some extra time on Sunday morning working on their defense.
It's no secret that this is an area the team has struggled with all season, but the Nats are trying to fix that.
It's difficult to understand why so many mental mistakes are being made. You hate to see the physical mistakes, too, but they are a bit more tolerable.
Taking infield and outfield on a regular basis can only help. You just have to wonder how much more of this can an organization take? It's exhausting to watch these games, and one can only wonder what the players and coaches are going through.
No one wants to lose, but there is a sense of complacency at times from some of the young players, and that's not good. I'm not questioning anyone's effort, just that some players might be getting used to losing, and that's a cause for concern.
I'm a big believer in staying positive, so you just have to hope the tide will turn and the Nats will click, get some breaks and get on a roll...sooner than later.
