John Lannan started Opening Day for the Nats, but struggled at the beginning of the year so he was optioned to Double-A Harrisburg. However, since being recalled on Aug. 1, Lannan is 3-0 with a 3.09 ERA. He has also struck out 15 batters while walking only five hitters. Joel Peralta didn't make Washington's Opening Day roster, but since his midseason call up, Peralta has been very reliable out of the Nats' bullpen. After hitting his 300th homer as a catcher, Pudge Rodriguez joins only four other major leaguers to reach that mark: Mike Piazza (396), Carlton Fisk (351), Johnny Bench (327) and Yogi Berra (306).
