A new set for O's Xtra

Opening Day at Camden Yards was, as always, a big event, and successful with the Orioles' 10-5 win over the Yankees. There was a tremendous electricity in the air as O's fans, devoted to their team, made their presence felt and created an exciting home field advantage.

Opening Day also brought the unveiling of the state of the art O's Xtra set in the picnic area behind the bullpens. The permanent structure is large and versatile and enhances our coverage of the Birds.

All season long when the Orioles play home games, O's Xtra on MASN will come to you live from the ballpark. With MASN's commitment to HD telecasts, the new O's Xtra set enables us to extend our HD coverage and bring the fans closer to the team.

Every O's Xtra pregame show will set the scene for that night's game. We'll continue to follow trends, keep the fans up to date on Orioles news, and draw from the expertise of Rick Dempsey for his unique analysis.

We'll also have guests join us on the set to talk about the Orioles past and present. Former Orioles outfielder Mike Devereaux helped us debut O's Xtra at the ballpark on Opening Day.

The O's Xtra postgame show will continue to cover manager Dave Trembley's media conference discussing each game just after it was completed. We'll also bring you player interviews, insight from Jim Palmer and Buck Martinez, and Rick Dempsey's breakdown of the game.

We'll also continue to follow the daily results of the Orioles' minor league teams, keeping Orioles fans up to date on the progress of the many exciting prospects in the farm system.

I also want to extend an invitation to Orioles fans who are at the games to stop by the set and watch the show. O's Xtra begins 30 minutes before game time and the O's Xtra postgame show begins just after the final out.

We hope to build from the excitement of Opening Day as the season continues. And if you aren't at home watching Rick Dempsey in HD on MASN, being there in person to cheer him on is even better.

See you at the ballpark and see you on MASN. Baseball is back in HD!!
