Gearing up for another season of Nats baseball on MASN

The Washington Nationals' 2009 baseball season kicks off today in South Florida.

The Nats open up against the Florida Marlins at Dolphin stadium. Ray and I will get things rolling on MASN with our pregame show at 3:30; then Bob and Rob take it at 4 p.m. with all the play-by-play action.

Nats Xtra postgame follows with Ray and I right back atcha for 30 minutes after every game.

This past Saturday, Manny Acta's ballclub played its final spring training game against Baltimore and came away with a 5-4 win at Nationals Park.

One week from today is the home opener against the Phillies and we hope you will stop by our MASN set and say hello either before or after the game. Ray and I will be doing our shows live from Nationals park for each and every home game this season.

Our location is just above the left field bullpen, one of those can't miss us spots in this gorgeous facility.

Before the O's exhibition game, the Nationals announced a very special program involving DC public high schools and their respective baseball teams. Club President Stan Kasten unveiled plans that will enable every team to practice in our major league stadium and use all of the same facilities that are available to Nats players--all at no charge.

Can you imagine how thrilled these kids will be to go through a full scale practice at the home of the Washington Nationals?

And who knows, someday one of these youngsters might be wearing a Nats uniform in the majors.
