O's claim Reyes off waivers from Toronto, release Duchscherer

The Orioles today announced that they have claimed left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes on waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays. Reyes, 26, went 5-8 with a 5.40 ERA (110.0IP, 66ER) in 20 starts for the Blue Jays this season. He spent parts of the previous four seasons with the Atlanta Braves. In 61 career major league games (57 starts), Reyes is 10-23 with a 6.04 ERA (304.0IP, 204ER).

To make room for Reyes on the 40-man roster, the Orioles have transferred outfielder Luke Scott to the 60-day disabled list.

The Orioles today announced that they have released right-hander Justin Duchscherer from the roster. Duchscherer signed with the Orioles as a free agent prior to this season but did not appear in a game for the club.

The Orioles also announced today that they have activated right-hander Brad Bergesen from the paternity leave list. Bergesen will rejoin the club in time for tonight's game against the Kansas City Royals in Kansas City.
