This Year in Baseball Awards

Now through December 3rd, Nats fans can show support for Ryan Zimmerman, Stephen Strasburg and Nyjer Morgan by voting in the annual This Year in Baseball Awards.

You watch your Gold Glove third baseman make sparking defensive plays night after night at Nationals Park and on MASN. Make sure he gets selected as “Defensive Player of the Year” by voting here.

Stephen Strasburg is also up for two awards -- Performance of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Rookie is tough, both because he only started 12 games and because Garcia, Heyward, Posey and Stanton are competing against him, but he still has a great shot. In the performance category, he’s up against a few perfect games, no hitters and the historic non-no-hitter with Armando Galarraga. Vote early and vote often for your favorite pitching phenom!

Of course, Nyjer Morgan has a few nominations as well. His “Oddity of the Year” nomination comes from the mistake that allowed Adam Jones to get an inside-the-park home run at Nationals Park back in May. His nomination for “Play of the Year” might make up for that oddity. It came when he climbed the outfield wall to rob Corey Patterson of a home run in Baltimore.

Vote now, vote tomorrow and keep voting until December 3rd!
