On Wednesday afternoon, the Nationals announced some new details about NatsFest, scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 from 4-8 p.m. at Nationals Park. According to the release, Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper, Derek Norris, Chien-Ming Wang and Cole Kimball are all scheduled to attend the team's third annual NatsFest celebration.
Upon entering the ballpark at 4 p.m., fans can watch the Nationals take batting practice until 5:45 p.m. Following practice, at approximately 6:15 p.m., fans will be led to the warning track to meet Nationals players and coaches. After the meet-and-greet, season ticket holders will have an exclusive opportunity to enjoy photo stations with Nationals players in the Stars & Stripes Club.
Throughout the event, the team will host a number of Q&A sessions with broadcasters, coaches, baseball legends, executives, prospects and current players at the Miller Light Scoreboard Walk and in the PNC Diamond Club. Some panels will be open only to season ticket holders, while others will require advance sign-up at 4 p.m. in the Center Field Plaza. The Nats are also offering a special kids-only event with the team's catchers in the auxiliary locker room from 7-8 p.m.
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to race against Teddy and Abe, this might be your chance. Fifteen children and five adults will be selected to race against Abe, George, Tom and Teddy through a free raffle.
For a $5 donation to the Dream Foundation, fans can also enter a Guitar Hero contest. The lucky winner will face off against a current Nationals player at 7:50 p.m.
Additionally, fans can hit in the batting cages, enjoy the silent auction, take photographs with Ryan Zimmerman's Silver Slugger award, meet WJFK's LaVar Arrington and Chad Dukes, and win prizes in MASN's interactive area.
