There's been much news to report during the second week of spring training, including some interesting storylines out of Viera, Fla.

According to a recent report by ESPN's "Outside the Lines," Gio Gonzalez did not receive PEDs from Biogenesis, the Miami-area clinic to which he was linked earlier in the offseason.

Along with Gonzalez, Ross Detwiler announced Tuesday that he'll be playing in the World Baseball Classic for Team USA.

Looking to make an impression at camp is Micah Owings, who went 8-0 as a reliever in 2011. Now, however, he is working to make the cut as a position player.

On Wednesday, Strasburg threw his first live batting practice and was happy with his results, and yesterday, the Nationals signed Chris Young to a minor league deal, which includes an invitation to spring training.
