Actually, tomorrow I fly down to Florida for a few days in Viera. Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to throw on Sunday against St, Louis, so I'm looking forward to that. Livan Hernandez will follow SS to the mound for his first spring training innings this month. I'll be on hand Saturday for the first couple of hours of "Wall-to-Wall Baseball " on MASN, then head for BWI.
Monday night's game with Atlanta is on MASN, and I'll show up somewhere between innings, likely down by the dugout. No wagering, please.
When I was in Viera last year, the Nats signed reliever Joe Beimel, who had been on the free agent market for months. He's in the same boat this year, despite having decent, if unspectacular numbers last year with Washington and Colorado.
