More baseball talk on MASN

VIERA, Fla. - If you watched today's Nationals-Yankees tilt on MASN, then perhaps you heard the cat being let out of the proverbial bag when I joined Bob Carpenter and F.P. Santangelo in the sixth inning. If not, then here's what you missed.

Beginning March 31 at 5 p.m. - after the Nationals home opener against Atlanta - MASN will premiere a new Monday-Friday program called "The Mid-Atlantic Sports Report."

Perhaps you've seen "Wall-to-Wall Baseball" on MASN on Saturday mornings the past few years. The new show will have the same focus, with subject matter that will be divided as equally as possible between the Nationals, Orioles and baseball in general. The panel will consist of the Saturday trio - Tom Davis, Dave Johnson and myself - plus Mel Antonen, the longtime USA Today baseball scribe who now does special assignments for SI.com and is heard on Sirius/XM Radio.

We'll be able to do segments with guests both Nationals Park and Camden Yards, as well as on the phone. We'll have occasional guest panelists, as well. The show will lead into either "Nats Xtra" or "Orioles Xtra," or both, since both teams' game time is 7:05 p.m. on many nights.

Anyway, we're all pretty excited about it, and more details will be forthcoming, including ways to contact the show and submit questions or topics for discussion. Hope you'll check it out.
