A Wednesday at the Castle

Every Wednesday the media is allowed to speak to a few selected players from the Ravens and John Harbaugh usually speaks as well. Here are some highlights from each of the interviews: John Harbaugh On what they saw from Ken Hamlin that they decided to bring him back: "We said before we wanted him back. He's part of our team. He was a big part

Locker room talk after the win

John Harbaugh On the performance of the offense: "I think the whole team won the game. That's important for [our offense]. Our offense wants to be that kind of group that can - if we're not shutting a team down like we're capable of doing, which we didn't do today like we've done before on defense, we have to be able to score some points

Offensively, the Browns are ranked higher

As shown in a few of my previous entries, the Ravens have had the advantage in the overall series against the Browns. But, going into to Sunday the Browns have the better ranked offense. The fact that the Ravens played two of the best defenses in the league may factor into these low rankings: Browns: Total Offense: 17 (319) Rush Offense: 22 (88.5) Pass Offense:

Stats against the enemy

The Ravens have always seemed to have the Browns' number in this match-up's history and have won their last four games against Cleveland. Here are some more stats from this match-up: 1. The Ravens lead the overall series 15-7. 2. At M&T Bank the Ravens are 8-3 against the Browns and at Cleveland they are 7-4. 3. The Ravens have shutout the Browns three times

Ravens' factoids

Since 2000, the Ravens own the NFL's third-best home record in regular season play, posting a 58-22 mark during that span (New England is 62-19 and Indianapolis is 61-20). Under head coach John Harbaugh, Baltimore is 12-4 at home and has won 10 of its last 13 home games. The Ravens are 9-5 all time in home openers, producing four straight victories at M&T

Monday morning Harbaugh

Did Joe Flacco express any frustrations on the way home from Cincinnati, once the team was away from the media? "If he did [show that], I wouldn't share it with you. That's in-house stuff. That's an opportunity for guys to be on their own. Everybody handles it a different way. But it's not like we're walking around asking guys how they feel. Guys feel the

The second Ray Lewis Old Spice commercial

In an earlier post I showed Ray Lewis' first Old Spice commercial of 2010 and I have to admit I wasn't the biggest fan. But, a second one aired before the Ravens' Monday Night game against the Jets and this one is definitely better:

Talk from the Enemy

Manish Mehta - New York Daily News - Will Revis be matched up with Anquan Boldin from start to finish? "From the people I've spoken to, don't expect Revis to play Boldin for 100 percent of the snaps. It's a tough first assignment for Revis. Boldin's physical style and crisp intermediate route running will surely test Revis' ability. The more likely scenario is that the

Ravens Eve

Watching all this football today has got me itching for tomorrow night and it pretty much feels like Christmas Eve. I've been on Youtube, ESPN and Sports Illustrated all day checking out Ravens' videos and here are some of the best of what I stumbled upon. Hope you enjoy. --- ---

Adam Dunn on the Ravens: "This is their year"

While shooting the Adam Dunn Video Blog today, Jen Royle asked Dunn whom he thought would win Monday and his pick was the Ravens. He also went on the say that this is the Ravens' year. Not that that means much coming from a baseball player, but Dunn knows his football and for him to think it's the Ravens' year at least means something. I've

Ravens ranked second in power rankings

It's no secret that the Ravens were serious about winning it all going into this season and the signings in the offseason definitely prove that. There has been prediction after prediction and they all place the Ravens high atop their lists of best teams in the league. Some even are predicting the Super Bowl this season. The signing of T.J. Houshmandzadeh puts the Ravens, at

A look at Houshmandzadeh's career

I guess the Ravens really aren't messing around with this season. With news breaking today that T.J. Houshmandzadeh is coming to Baltimore the Ravens have now added another big weapon to their offensive arsenal. The defense won't know whom to cover out there. Houshmandzadeh, 32, was released after a year where he caught 79 passes for 911 yards and three touchdowns for the Seattle Seahawks.
