Manchester Elementary Play 60/Project ACES Kickoff Assembly

Jameel McClain will help Manchester Elementary School kick off the Carroll County Play 60/Project ACES (Active Children Excel in School) program to promote daily exercise and good nutrition. As the special guest at an assembly for children in grades third through fifth, McClain will share the benefits of a healthy lifestyle with the students.

Twenty-six elementary schools throughout Carroll County will participate in the Play 60 Challenge/Project ACES program, totaling over 14,000 students. The Ravens and local Challenge partners will encourage elementary school students to engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day for a period of two weeks. Students will keep track of their daily activities in logs provided by the program.

Two students will be picked, one girl and one boy, and they will be invited to the Ravens-Buccaneers game on Nov. 28, where they will be recognized on-field prior to kickoff. Also, three additional students will be chosen to attend the Ravens Play 60 reward luncheon in the spring of 2011, alongside winning students from surrounding Baltimore-area schools taking part in the Play 60 Challenge.

The Ravens will also reward the top-participating school with a financial grant that will go to their physical education department.
