Jah Reid, Torrey Smith won’t play vs. Lions

Offensive tackle Jah Reid might’ve returned to practice this week, but he isn’t quite ready for game action.

Reid is among the Ravens’ nine players who won’t suit up for tonight’s preseason home opener against the Lions. Reid suffered a calf injury over the summer and hasn’t yet been able to get it right.

So much for that fully healthy line against Detroit’s potent defensive front.

Joining Reid on the sidelines will be linebacker Darryl Blackstock, linebacker Josh Bynes, tight end Ed Dickson, wideout Devin Goda, defensive tackle Ryan McBean, tight end Dennis Pitta, wideout David Reed and linebacker Terrell Suggs.

Update: Receiver Torrey Smith doesn’t appear to be playing either. He’s not participating in warmups.
