For the second time in four games, Jacoby Jones has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Jones became the first Ravens return man to run back two kickoffs for touchdowns in both a season and career.
On Oct. 14 against the Cowboys, he matched the NFL record with his 108-yard kickoff return for a score that proved to be the difference in a 31-29 win. This time, he was rewarded for returning a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown in Sunday’s 55-20 win over the Raiders. That made him the first player in NFL history with two career kickoff returns of at least 105 yards.
“It’s another one for our unit, all the hard work we do - the whole unit from the kickoff coverage to the kickoff return, punt, punt return, field goal, everything,” Jones said Wednesday.
In his first season with the Ravens after being cut by the Texans, Jones leads players with at least 10 returns with 38.6 yards per kickoff return.
