Dickson and Ellerbe out, McPhee active for Ravens vs. Steelers

The Ravens and Steelers will both be a bit shorthanded for this afternoon’s critical AFC North contest at M&T Bank Stadium.

Baltimore will be without tight end Ed Dickson (knee) and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (ankle, knee, finger). Dickson had played in all 11 games, starting nine, while Ellerbe is second on the team in tackles.

Brendon Ayanbadejo is slated to start at linebacker in Ellerbe’s place.

Defensive end Pernell McPhee returns to action for the Ravens, however, after being inactive for the last four contests.

Also inactive for the Ravens: cornerback Jimmy Smith, cornerback Chris Johnson, wideout/return specialist Deonte Thompson and defensive tackle Bryan Hall.

While the Steelers have safety Troy Polamalu in uniform for the first time since Oct. 7 and receiver Antonio Brown back for the first time since Nov. 4, quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich aren’t the only players inactive Sunday.

Running back Rashard Mendenhall, cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke, linebacker LaMarr Woodley, tackle Mike Adams and wideout Jerricho Cotchery are not in uniform for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers will have Charlie Batch at quarterback, Kelvin Beachum starting at right tackle in Adams’ place, and Jason Worilds starting at linebacker in Woodley’s spot.
