Ray Lewis activated, but expected out until playoffs

The Ravens activated linebacker Ray Lewis this afternoon in what amounts to a procedural move. To create space on the active roster, the team placed LaQuan Williams on injured reserve.

According to an NFL.com report, Lewis is still not expected to play this week in Baltimore’s season finale, just as coach John Harbaugh said Sunday.

The move to add Lewis to the 53-man roster will make him eligible for the playoffs, however. The Ravens’ team leader has been out since Oct. 14 as he recovered from torn triceps.
