Bernard Pierce held up at gunpoint, carjacked in Philadelphia

Ravens backup tailback Bernard Pierce was robbed at gunpoint and had his BMW stolen on Sunday night near his hometown in Philadelphia, according to multiple reports.

Pierce was with his cousin when a car pulled up, a man in dark clothing got out and pulled a gun. The gunman took Pierce’s wallet, cell phone and car keys before driving off in the former Temple University runner’s car, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Pierce’s SUV was found abandoned at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue on Monday.

The Ravens issued a statement, saying, “We have been in contact with Bernard and we are aware of the situation.”

As a rookie in 2012, Pierce ran for 532 yards and a touchdown while adding seven receptions for 47 yards in appearing in all 16 games.
