J. Jones, A. Brown set to return to practice this week (other injury updates)

Ravens coach John Harbaugh provided a slew of updates on the team’s injured players, including those playing while hurt.

The highlights were that wideout/return man Jacoby Jones and linebacker Arthur Brown are expected to return to practice this week. Jones hasn’t played since spraining his MCL in a collision with Brynden Trawick on a return in the opener at Denver. Brown has missed the last two games with a strained chest muscle.

Harbaugh also said tailbacks Ray Rice (hip) and Bernard Pierce (calf strain), defensive end Chris Canty (thigh) and defensive tackle Brandon Williams (toe) got through the Buffalo game just fine, but will all continue to be monitored.

Here’s a roundup of everyone else, most of which were hurt Sunday:

* Linebacker Albert McClellan (shoulder sprain)

“We’ll have to see how he practices this week with it. There’s no major damage in there,” Harbaugh said.

* Wideout Marlon Brown (hamstring strain)

“He looked pretty good this morning,” Harbaugh said.

* Cornerback Lardarius Webb (hamstring strain)

“He looked good this morning. We’ll have to carry out through the week and see how they look,” Harbaugh said of Webb and Marlon Brown.

* Wideout Deonte Thompson (concussion)

“He’ll go through the protocol, but he was good this morning - no headaches, no concussion symptoms,” Harbaugh said. “But he’ll go through the NFL protocol on that. The foot came out of there very well, so that was positive.”

* Cornerback Jimmy Smith (bruised glut muscle)

“You might’ve seen him limping and getting on the bike during the game,” Harbaugh said. “I thought he played through that and played very well with that.”

* Safety Jeromy Miles (hamstring strain)

“We should pick up Jeromy Miles this week. We’re really hopeful that that’ll happen,” Harbaugh said. “He signed here from Cincinnati, he had a little bit of a hamstring and we decided to rest him last week. And this week, he looks good, so we’ll have our fingers crossed on that one.”

* Running back Shaun Draughn (ankle sprain)

“But he did get up and we kind of held him out of action. He was kind of in an emergency role for us,” Harbaugh said. “He looks good this morning.”

* Wideout Brandon Stokely (groin strain)

“We thought we’d get him to the game and working out, we thought he had a chance to be OK,” Harbaugh said. “We thought he’d be OK, but it just tightened up on him in pregame. So we’ll monitor that again day to day this week and hopefully we’ll have him next week.”

Harbaugh also was asked about having so many wideouts unavailable and how that limits the Ravens in practice.

“It’s hurt us, there’s no question,” he said. “We’re down on legs. We’re down on legs on that side of the ball. It’s hard to run the way you want and the things you want to work on. But you have to do it. Everybody faces that. It’ll be good to get those guys back. We’ll get Jacoby back this week practicing, Deonte’s back now, it looked like Marlon and Brandon will have a chance to practice, so that will help us.”
