The Ravens announced Sunday that they have waived LaQuan Williams, bringing their wide receiver count down to six.
Baltimore appeared set to hold on to Williams, a strong special teams performer who gave the team an uncharacteristically high seven wideouts on the roster. Williams has been dealing with a hamstring injury, and was not likely going to be ready for Thursday's opener at Denver.
The Ravens also unveiled their practice squad, which includes seven players who were cut over the weekend: safety Omar Brown, linebacker Brandon Copeland, tackle Jordan Devey, tight end Matt Furstenburg, defensive tackle Cody Larsen, center Reggie Stephens and tackle J.J. 'Unga.
Running back Bobby Rainey was a candidate for the practice squad, but was claimed by the Browns.
