Ray Rice doubtful, Ed Reed questionable for Texans-Ravens tilt (plus tickets note)

Ray Rice is among a group of players coach John Harbaugh told reporters would be a game-time decision Sunday against the Texans.

Rice, who hurt his left hip in the Ravens’ win over the Browns last week, is listed as doubtful for the contest. So are linebacker Arthur Brown (chest), defensive end Chris Canty (thigh), defensive tackle Brandon Williams (toe) and wideout Deonte Thompson (foot).

Wideout Jacoby Jones (knee) and center Ryan Jensen (foot) are both out against Houston, and cornerback Chykie Brown (knee) is questionable.

Rice, Arthur Brown, Chykie Brown and Canty all suffered their injuries last week.

“They’re all working hard to get back. They’re all in the same neighborhood as far as getting back - I’m thinking of Canty and Ray Rice and those guys, who were injured last week,” Harbaugh told reporters. “It’ll be a game-time decision with those guys, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed, although we’re prepared for it to go either way.”

The Texans have nobody listed as out or doubtful, but reported plenty of players as questionable or probable.

Chief among them is former Ravens safety Ed Reed (hip), who is listed as questionable. Reed did not play in Houston’s first two games.

Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco seemed to hope Reed would be able to play in the contest.

“I don’t know. This is a tough question,” Flacco said. “Obviously, he’s a good player, so anytime if you don’t have to play against a good player ... But then, you like playing those guys and giving yourself a challenge and playing against a guy that you’ve practiced against for so long. It is what it is.

“He’s a good player, and we’re going to plan on him being out there. We’ve just got play our game and make sure we don’t give him the opportunity to take advantage of a lot of things, because when he’s given the opportunity to do something, he usually does it and capitalizes. That’s what makes him so good. He doesn’t miss his chances, so we’ve just got to make sure we don’t give him any.”

The Texans also listed left tackle Duane Brown (toe) and tight end Garrett Graham (hip/groin) as questionable. The following players are listed as probable: linebacker Brian Cushing (knee), tight end Owen Daniels (rest), tailback Arian Foster (calf/chest/thumb), wideout Andre Johnson (concussion/back), cornerback Jonathan Joseph (rest), linebacker Joe Mays (quad), cornerback Brice McCain (knee), center Chris Meyers (back), right tackle Derek Newton (knee/calf/elbow), wideout DeVier Posey (achilles/foot), linebacker Darryl Sharpton (hip), left guard Wade Smith (knee) and tailback Ben Tate (shoulder).
