Ravens reinstate, then reportedly cut safety Christian Thompson

The Ravens reinstated safety Christian Thompson on Tuesday and then reportedly cut him, according to The Sun.

Thompson was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. Baltimore selected the 23-year-old in the fourth round of last year's draft, but he was surpassed in the safety rotation and lost his roster spot to the just-acquired Jeromy Miles.

Thompson appeared in seven games as a rookie last year. If he clears waivers, he'll be eligible to be signed to the practice squad.
