The Ravens have two players on their roster with the last name “Smith”.
On their last drive, Troy found Marcus for an 11-yard touchdown, giving the Ravens a 24-3 lead early in the fourth quarter.
That Smith-to-Smith thing amuse anyone other than me? No? OK.
Troy looked the best that he has throughout training camp and the preseason on that drive, taking the Ravens 80 yards on 11 plays, eating up nearly six minutes of clock in the process.
He spread the ball around well, connecting with rookie tight ends Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta, running back Jalen Parmele and Smith.
From Marcus’ perspective, the touchdown is huge as he tries to earn one of the final spots on the Ravens’ 53-man roster.
Known mostly for his special teams expertise, Marcus now is proving he can be counted on in the passing game as well.
Dickson also continues to impress, flashing his athleticism and soft hands. The rookie really has looked sharp throughout camp and the preseason.
