The Ravens have put the finishing touches on their practice squad, signing cornerback David Pender today to complete the eight-man roster.
Pender (6-0, 180 pounds) was let go by the Eagles on Sept. 3. The undrafted rookie played his college ball at Purdue, posting 129 tackles and three interceptions in three years as a starter.
The 22-year-old ran a 4.37 40 leading up to the Draft.
“I’m just real grateful,” Pender said today. “I give all the thanks to God for the opportunity and to the Ravens to be here. I’m just real grateful for the opportunity.
“The tryout went real good. I’m assuming I had the best 40 time and I feel like I looked the best out of the DBs they brought in. I came in and did everything I had to do and impressed the coaches.”
The Ravens’ practice squad gives them depth at nearly every position group.
Here’s the current makeup of the eight-man developmental roster:
QB Hunter Cantwell
TE Davon Drew
WR Justin Harper
