Ray Rice came into today’s game dealing with a knee bruise.
Willis McGahee has run for 39 yards and a touchdown today, but he hasn’t returned to the game since getting hit up high and fumbling early in the third quarter.
Le’Ron McClain got two carries late in the third quarter, then had to leave the field with what looked like a groin or upper leg injury.
The Ravens are running out of healthy tailbacks.
They would prefer not to use Rice much today and let him get that injured right knee healthy. But if McGahee has to remain on the sideline and McClain is unable to pick up any of the slack at running back, the Ravens might need to let Rice carry the bulk of the rushing attack down the stretch in this one.
One other option is Jalen Parmele, but he doesn’t have much experience in regular season action, and in a game of this magnitude, the Ravens would probably prefer having Parmele contribute solely on special teams.
